Very good for 10+ years experienced guys who just want a relaxed life, OK for freshers but BAD for everyone else
Pros
Less work pressure compared to other service companies. No bench. Everyone is on a project. Flexible work timings. Dress Code for namesake. Lots of holidays. Online resources for training. Free Evening Snacks.
Cons
Mediocre training to freshers. Just for namesake. Learning is only on the job. Less domain knowledge. Though Verizon is a telecommunication company, most of the work done is just end user level application maintenance. Not core telecom work involving protocols, etc. Very little process knowledge. Though the company claims to be a CMMI Level 5 organization, processes are not followed in many projects. Almost Zero onsite opportunities. Single digit Salary hike on promotion. Constant security crap. 1.) Random bag checks at entrance. 2.) Random check for camera mobile even at the floor entrance. 3.) No access even to the source repository. We send e-mails around to merge our source code changes.
