      Just another large telephone company.

      Pros

      Exposed to a vast number of products and technologies...as well as the ability to establish relationships with Verizon partners to further that exposure. A great number of opportunities around the country if there are no hiring freezes. . Compensation is fair compared to the rest of the telecom / service provider market

      Cons

      Very little in the way of new hire training. Lots of job justification amongst management...consistent reorganization and staff reductions. Only two weeks vacation in the first year, and those have to be accrued. Not an environement that foster employeee development. Very political atmosphere as there are a number of employees that have been around for many years and are looking to protect their job security.

      The benefits, It has a very flexible schedule for those who need time off.

      Cons

      some of the downsides is that as the company gets bigger and the economy gets tighter a lot of things we are used to doing that made us an exceptional company is now making us fit in with the industry norms...Turning down the offer for the i-phone

      Great company that has fallen on hard times

      Pros

      Pay and benefits are competitive. You will find that you get to work with a lot of great people who truly care about the company.

      Cons

      The biggest downside is the decline of the telecommunications industry in general. Verizon's landline business has been hit hard and there have been lots of layoffs resulting from it. Senior management has not done a good job of adjusting to changes in the industry. Job security for Non-unioned employees is scarce. The wireless business is a completely different story, lots of good opportunities there.
