Pros

Wide variety of career paths. Many opportunities to learn something new.

Cons

Tend to work longer than normal hours at expense of employee. Constantly firing and hiring and does not grow from within.

Pros

Cellphone plan discounts! Good health plan benefits!

Cons

No work life balance. They believe in getting things done the minute they think of. 70-80 hrs a week is the norm!

Pros

Nice people to work with and good quality of software developers. Not too many politics, with a focus on the work of developing software. Good products, good software tools.

Cons

Classic chaotic development environment -- stuck between waterfall and agile, with middle management terrified of making the jump, for fear that it might make them (more) irrelevant. Purchasing anything (computer hardware, software) is a nightmare because Verizon doesn't want to pay vendors in a timely fashions. I've had employees sit for months withour anything to do because of hardware delays.
