Great Job, Not A Great Company
Pros
I worked for Verizon for 20 Years as a union worker. Learned a great profession. Learned to install and repair landline service to home and businesses. Good company until NYNEX purchased Bell Atlantic.
Cons
Management is more interested in the outcome of the numbers. Micro-management of its workers has created a hostile environment, US verse THEM. No progressive discipline with 30 working day suspension the norm. Upper management over priced and ruthless. Don't want union workers anymore which built the company to what it is today. SHAMEFUL Treat your customer as a valued asset. Roll out FIOS in NJ per the statewide franchise agreement. Keep your promise to your legal obligations. Can't trust any manager or upper management. They will lie to you but tell them to trust them then do anything they want to meet their needs not their employees. Couldn't want to retire and get away from them. Life is good now. Just feel real sorry for those who still work there.
