Pros

The company offers world class benefits that include medical, dental, vision, employee assistance, major discounts on gyms, and generous time off. Tuition vouchers and the ability to get multiple certificates are game changers.

Cons

The environment is very bureaucratic and impersonal. Politics often gets in the way of the best business decisions. The siloed nature of each work group, where executives look out for their departments rather than the overall business goals, is a hindrance to the company.

Pros

Good compensation package with bonus, stock and 401k match. 50% employee discount on Verizon services. Excellent work/life balance, though this is team and role dependent. Work is meaningful and usually has some impact on the company and bottom-line.

Cons

Constant threat of layoffs. Lot of internal functions have been outsourced, and off-shore teams can be difficult to work with. Career growth is difficult, especially at the Senior Manager level trying to break into Director (promotions are based on who you know, not so much on performance or merit). Too many management layers (I've got 2 VPs and 2 SVPs in my chain of command), which leads to mixed priorities and slower decision making. Ashburn office is outdated.
