Poor Leadership, but good people

Pros

The only positive from my time at Vestas was my HR colleagues in the US.

Cons

Programs pushed down from EU headquarters didn't make business sense in the US. Sr. Leadership was completely disconnected from our business. After being sent to India to train an outsourcing team, I returned home to learn that I was being laid off. Not a classy move.

Pay, health, vision and dental insurance.

Way employees are treated, time off, mandatory overtime, no room for advancement, long hours with horrible schedule.

Pros

At Vestas I had great colleagues and generally a good work atmosphere despite cost pressure and relocation rumors. Windpower is a great business to be in, turbines are a great product. Vestas has a great benefits package, hands down. It just seems right to work in the renewable energy sector and I was always proud to explain where I worked.

Cons

Management does not operate very professionally when it comes to coaching and developing leadership. Work -life balance is substandard. Volatile market environment.
