They try to do some fun things to boost morale. Free snacks and soda.

Cons

The pay is not competitive and the benefits not as good as in other places. Being a couple years away from an IPO for 10 years is discouraging. I do not recommend Vestmark for software engineers since the technologies and coding practices are circa 2001, which has created a bloated codebase that is tedious to maintain. Unfortunately you won't learn anything useful, or work with newer technologies, because there is just too much invested in their aging tech infrastructure. You will spend a lot of time learning their many home brewed frameworks that are unfortunately not documented.

Many great people to work with. Great product with lots to learn.

Cons

- Where you start is where you will be. No promotions for long term employees. Particularly dissatisfying when company hires higher titled outsiders who have little-no technical knowledge into an engineering position only because the person was a friend of some of the higher-ups. Spend couple years, acquire good experience and knowledge and move on to a company with actual promotions. - Below average salaries. - Company lacks profit despite age because revenue is used to fuel owners other companies - this makes the stock options mostly useless.
