Pros

When I started, I truly believed that I was part of a small team comprised of some of the brightest people around with real vision and ambition to make change. A lot of that change we were after came true, we left a mark in the world of micromobility, and I learned an immense amount of new skills across various disciplines that I’m grateful to take with me throughout the rest of my career.

Cons

With great rapid growth came a great collapse of internal structures, more poor leadership being brought in, and an absence of a reliable HR. At many times, numerous people didn’t even know what their title was, who their manager was, and the decision-maker for their future at Via had almost zero visibility on the work they were doing day-to-day. It seemed the solution during the cluster of hyper-growth was to mass hire new leaders that almost all possessed the same three things: a pompous attitude, less experience than the junior people that had been slaving to grow the company for years, and an ivy league degree.
