Pros

Great base pay, benefits, free non-decaled company truck to use as your daily driver for work or personal use. Pretty unlimited expense account. You are really encouraged to wine and dine your customers. Take them to concerts, hunting trips, dinners, etc. Whatever makes business sense you are pretty much free to do. Victaulic is a tough product to sell, but learning how to sell it, and all the obstacles you have to overcome makes you an incredibly talented sales person, whether you stay with Victaulic or move on.

Cons

The sales cycle is very long and you only get paid commission in the form of one bonus a year. Your bonus is based on growth year over year, along with other kickers such as growth of specific products, or total volume of products sold, etc. I wish the bonuses were better, but at the same time, the base pay is better than most sales roles I have encountered and if you do your job and build good relationships with customers you can go to a lot of fun events, dinners, trips, etc on Victaulic's dime and bring significant others along. My biggest concern is what the future for Victaulic looks like. So much of the construction industry is becoming automated and our biggest value is minimizing total install cost by cutting down the labor hours needed to install. Because so much work is becoming automated (robotic welders for example), those labor hours are being eliminated entirely anyway. I trust Victaulic will find a way to adapt, but we haven't been given a real clear path on what that looks like.

Pros

Pay is incredibly competitive and excels with options and choices for medical benefits. Family atmosphere and fantastic work-life balance.

Cons

Some disconnect between departments as you would expect everywhere. Male dominated but there are opportunities for women I've seen in true leadership roles.
