There is a good bit of "well, we have just always done it this way". Corporate headquarters is very out of touch with how things are done at the branch/production level.

Advancement is limited if you aren't one of the favorites - saw many qualified people passed over. Favoritism and nepotism reign supreme. Depending on the position, the hours and work weeks can be very long and very stressful. The last few years saw an amazing drop in morale across many departments.
