Pros

After many years in technology sales, I have worked for two main types of companies. There are companies whose vision of "what success looks like" flows only one way: From the top down (or from the global leadership to the regions.) Regional teams are expected to fall in line, accept what products and services are provided them, and "make it work." And then there are companies who are genuinely interested in adapting their product offerings, and their overall approach, based on unmet needs in the customer base. Especially the ones that competitors are ignoring. To do this, they listen carefully to the front line of customer interaction (sales, regional product management, etc.,) and adjust their products and processes as quickly as possible to meet the changing marketplace. I'm proud to say that ViewSonic is this kind of company. The technology landscape is littered with the tombstones of companies who have competed in ViewSonic's space over the years. They are gone, but ViewSonic is still here - vibrant and resilient, even after 30 years. This is not to say that there are no limitations to what the company can do. Sure there are. But ViewSonic is not locked into one type of technology offering. Or one interpretation of "best". ViewSonic is able to adjust to the needs of the customer. But it is incumbent on ViewSonic's people to bring this "voice of customer" forward quickly and credibly. If this sounds like the kind of environment that would challenge and stimulate you, then I highly recommend ViewSonic as an employer. There is a healthy mix of new blood and long-tenured team members. Both are working for the common good. Great diversity of global cultures and perspectives. Challenging but fun!

Cons

The same ticky-tacky kind of stuff that all employees gripe about - but these problems exist everywhere: Relatively high healthcare costs (compared to larger companies), low 401K match. Company is private and probably always will be, so don't count on a big IPO anytime soon. But these are small Cons compared to the numerous Pros mentioned above.
