Pros
Meet cool people, opportunity to work with firearms, given the privilege to provide much needed tools and training to law enforcement and military communities.
Cons
You will never be compensated fairly for the job you do, ever. There's an expectation to go above and beyond for a company that could genuinely care less about you. You will never be shown appreciation or given the recognition you deserve. You have to work anywhere near the COO/President (seriously my best days at VirTra were when he wasn't in the office). There are tons of useless meetings where upper management argues with employees and only holds back the progress and growth of the company. Extremely sexist environment (which don't bother telling HR about because she's treated like one of the boys and doesn't care in the least about it). Fully expect to overhear upper management brag about their lavish home renovations, gifts and trips while you live paycheck to paycheck. Executives lie to their investors, their customers and their employees. Im sure they lie to themselves most nights too about what a great job they are doing . They will cut corners anywhere possible to save a few bucks. This includes firing extremely talented individuals all because they request a raise in pay, only to hire someone with less experience and still wind up paying them more. Don't expect to see any diversity around the office. There's a monumental lack of communication amongst departments. I truly believe the CEO and COO are terrified to allow the company to succeed because they will be forced to hire someone to replace them who can actually run a business. They will respond to government solicitations with ridiculously short deadlines and have their employees work tireless hours to meet it. Only to be yelled at weeks later when the don't finish the other tasks they were forced to hold off on to satisfy some new pet project. Management will talk badly about you to your colleagues. You are just another warm body in a seat that is easily replaceable. You could not pay to me step foot inside that God forsaken place again.
