Pros

They have good benefits and the work is fairly easy. I have been able to learn a lot about cooking through working here and get a lot of time off 1-2 months throughout the year.

Cons

The pay reflects the difficulty of the job. The raises barely keep up with inflation. The tenancy of management to hire outside is upsetting. Combined the long term prospect of career advance and a sustainable pay are demoralizing.

Pros

Newman Library at Virginia Tech offers students the opportunity to gain real professional experience. Through this job, I was able to discover what fields I am truly interested in.

Cons

Since I am a student, I am only able to work around 15 hours a week at most. This limits my ability to really explore the different avenues that Newman Library offers.
