Pros

First let me state there are numerous and varied work study positions and this is my reflection of my work in a campus office environment. -Good networking experience depending on your placement -Time management grooming -Generally flexible with class schedule -I increased a lot of a soft skills, mainly customer service -I had great managers

Cons

- As a work-study I felt overworked and under paid; I didn't expect $20/hr, but I felt like cheap labor at times considering other people in the office did more or less the same thing I did and were full-time salary employees. - Sometimes office protocol and communication was disorganized, cumbersome, and was incredibly frustrating.

Pros

The students are great; fair salary and benefits especially good at providing funding for MA students which is not always the case for humanities fields

Cons

The teaching load can be quite intensive when trying to complete academic requirements, and it is very difficult to take advantage of the certificate programs the university encourages with the required work loa.d
