A good company to work for, but could be so much better if management valued it's employees better. Crawley office.
Pros
From a technical point of view, CGG is a fantastic company to work for as the technology is second to none and the level of know-how is not in question. For younger employees, the social scene is great, with numerous sporting and social events taking place and the vast majority of people are very friendly. It is very easy to integrate into the company because of this.
Cons
Despite the positives, career progression feels as though it comes down to pot luck as it is highly dependant on the team you are in and the group manager you work under. The lack of consistency in this regard is hugely frustrating. Certain quarters of management seem to have lost touch with those under their management. Small things like this make a huge difference to morale and motivation. Most problems could be easily identified and solved if management simply took more time to speak to the ordinary folk working within the company. Solving these issues would make CGG a well rounded company in terms of keeping it's newer generation employees motivated and wanting to work there long term.
