Toxic culture undermines good team dynamics

Pros

Good team members. That’s about it.

Cons

Company is straight up toxic. Doesn’t matter how much you work. How much you do to help them succeed. If you’re not in the founders inner circle your job is always on the line. Lay offs occur almost yearly despite “record growth”.

Pros

I honestly can't think of any pros.

Cons

There is absolutely no structure at all. The company kept hiring for the first six months of the year for no reason, only to lay off 12-15 of the 70 employees all at once. The founder is stuck in a 1980s mindset and has a bias towards employees from well-reputed Indian colleges like IITs and NITs, he seems to think that if you're from one of these schools, you’re automatically a “gem” regardless of whether you contribute or not. It doesn’t matter how hard you work, if you don't have that college tag or aren’t part of "the family," your efforts won’t be recognized. I was surprised to see how many others shared the same feelings about the company culture and the favoritism towards "the family." When well-known companies like Google and Amazon are hiring people based on talent alone, without requiring a degree, this founder is still stuck on college fame. So, if you're not from IIT or NIT or aren’t part of the founder's inner circle, expect no growth or acknowledgment, no matter how much you contribute.

Tough but satisfying Job

Pros

Serving the post-acute market with a next-generation product has its ups and downs, but providing value to seniors makes my day. I’m fortunate to work with a team that’s both helpful and genuine.

Cons

Tough customers, hard deadlines, and the pressure to deliver results all take their toll on CPs. Giving CPs more freedom to think outside the box and implement changes would benefit both them and the company.
