Pros

Fully remote work is (generally) always a big pro though with how often leadership loves to "optimize" for cost savings and instilling fear in the workforce, I wouldn't be surprised to hear that they've "rethought" that particular positive aspect in favor of South-Korean factory-style wage-slave working dormitories.(WorryFree, anyone?)

Cons

Literally everything. Their culture is one dominated by FEAR, elevating the incompetent and the downright evil and snuffing out excellence everywhere it exists because it threatens their own extremely high opinions of themselves. This is true for ELT on down. Every day feels like some dystopic setting where someone got out of bed and implemented whatever they read the night before in a fictional bedside book titled, "Punching Down: Corporate Case Studies in the Art of Removing Empathy to Increase Your Wealth and Status"

A great idea and company that's fallen on hard times

Pros

Some of the people there are the best in the industry; smart, engaged and going the extra mile for customers. There's still a "can do" attitude in the face of very difficult times for the company. The backing of Dell/EMC has helped accelerate customer wins in some cases. The pay can be fantastic, especially for long term employees, but it's also very variable, 2 people in the same role could have wildly disparate salaries especially when options are factored in. Some of the recent promotions have been well deserved and taking people who can make a difference to help lead the company forward. This was a 5 start company and can be again, but needs a lot of work and a cohesive vision that's not being well articulated (or perhaps doesn't exist).

Cons

Forward to where? This company has lacked a real vision for who they want to be and how they will get there for a long time. It's been years since there's been a significant new product released where competitors are releasing monthly. The "sell what's on the truck" mantra to sales is growing very tiresome; it's impossible to sell what doesn't (but should) exist. What was innovative is now table stakes and Virustream is having trouble keeping up with the very real competition that's releasing products on a regular cadence. A lot of the employees are waiting for the next WFR and those who have been cut, unfortunately, are often not the weakest but those with the clout to get their names on the list for a paid vacation or retirement package.

Stay away unless you thrive on drama and dysfunction

Pros

Work from home; company vacation policy and a few good co-workers that I'll miss. Opportunity to work with newer virtualization technologies that look good on your resume.

Cons

Lack of strategy/vision; no support system for new employees; too frequent re-orgs that put the wrong people in the wrong seats; weak leadership and sinking morale.
