Pros

I've had the pleasure of working as a Director of Sales at Home2 Suites Tampa Brandon and I must say it's been an incredible journey. The hotel's stunning property, combined with its exceptional service standards, made it a joy to sell and promote. The management company offered regular orientation training sessions, workshops, and conferences to help me enhance my sales skills and industry knowledge. The management company was supportive, collaborative, and always willing to lend a hand. The salary, commission structure, and benefits were highly competitive, making it an attractive opportunity for sales professionals. Overall it's a perfect job.

Cons

I have nothing to say negatively about the company.

Pros

Pros? No, no, no, no.

Cons

I had a terrible experience with Vistahost. If you give them a two-week notice and happen to get sick, they will not hesitate to terminate you the very day you call in sick, even if you have already given proper notice. To make matters worse, if you give them a two-week notice, they will automatically change your end date to better suit their schedule, completely disregarding yours. It’s clear that the company doesn’t care about the well-being of its employees. In my case, they prioritized their own needs over any kind of empathy or fairness. I would not recommend working here—there’s no consideration for health or personal circumstances.

Pros

I truly enjoyed many people that I worked with day to day.

Cons

Things may have changed since I worked there in 2016, but the benefits were absolute garbage. Didn’t get a single day of PTO until you’d been there for a year. My grandpa died and my managers didn’t told me that I was eligible for bereavement (I assumed I wasn’t since I didn’t get PTO) and therefore thought i would just not get paid for a day. Didn’t find out until after the funeral I could have got two days for it. No 401k. My manager had the type of mentality that I wouldn’t move up if I wasn’t working well over 40 hours a week.

Hello, Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re sorry to hear that your experience in 2016 didn’t meet your expectations, especially regarding PTO, bereavement leave, and advancement opportunities. Your comments have been heard, and we genuinely appreciate them—they have been instrumental in guiding many positive changes over the past several years. Since 2016, we’ve made significant improvements to our benefits package, including earlier access to PTO, bereavement leave clarity, and a 401k program. We’re also prioritizing a work-life balance that recognizes and respects each team member’s personal commitments, ensuring that career growth aligns with well-being rather than extra hours. We hope you’ll consider reconnecting with us to see how Vista Host has evolved. We’d love the opportunity to show you the changes we’ve made to support our team’s success and satisfaction. Thank you again for your feedback, and best wishes for your future endeavors. Warm regards, The Vista Host Team
