Pros

Small company based in Sunnyvale. Company has some exciting technology around Adobe Flex. Strong activity in Federal area driving product direction.

Cons

Small private company. It is difficult to tell how sales are going since going private. Product direction seems to be haphazard in that new features are added to products without the core functionality being nailed down.

Pros

Being a small company once has the opportunity to wear many hats and get the opportunity to do new things. The scope of the jobs are inherently larger than those of larger companies. I had responsibilities of typically higher level titles. Vitria's product is very interesting. The Company started as an EAI provider and had great results in telecomm and healthcare. After the bubble popped and those customers experienced a down-turn, Vitria was in turn impacted. Vitria is now considered a leader in BPM which has a lot of potential.

Cons

The Company was struggling to redfine itself as a BPM provider in a soft market. As a result the Company was down-sizing so there wasn't much room for career advancement.
