      Good salary, not so good carreer opportunities

      Pros

      I think the best reason to work in Voith is the possibility to learn a lot on Voith markets and to have a good initial income (higher than the average).

      Cons

      I suppose that carreer opportunities are not really good. It is quite hard to get a promotion or an income increase. If you are not from the core-business areas (in my case, I was in IT), the chance to develop yourself is quite low.

      typical corporate mentality

      Pros

      Pay scale is just slightly less than other comparable area industrial companies. Hourly employees eligible to earn personal paid time off. Diversified products some of which interface with utilities companies, offer some stability although that has begun to change for the worse recently.

      Cons

      Management placing and continuing to allow inappropriate and unqualified persons in managerial roles. This leads to much negativity and undue stress. Hard to believe this is allowed to happen but it is rampant within the company.

      Pros

      Company has been around for 160 years, does great work. Good pay.

      Cons

      Managers are okay with incompetence. Hardest workers are ignored for promotion. Reporting issues does nothing.
