You Can Do Better.

Pros

If you want to work at a failing company for a passive aggressive CEO that thinks he's running Google, than this is the place for you. Good at your job? Look forward to stress and being completely overwhelmed as the company's clueless leadership rests on you. Bad at your job? You'll probably still get hired but at a cheap rate and sometimes there will be a karaoke party or cocktail event for you to waste your time at.

Cons

So many things to say here but I'll sum it up with a quick translation of the culture code: 1 -Help breed amazing founders: Find founders that are tech illiterate enough to go with the Volusion platform and try teaching them how to internet. 2 - Keep it simple and move fast: Hack your way through to make complicated things happen quickly for not a lot of money (and do it in not enough time) to try and meet goals that will never be reached. Always solve for the customer: impossible because the only problem customers have is how to leave Volusion in the fastest most efficient way possible. Put people before everything else: Anyone who believes that any company does this is delusional. Volusion is no exception. They are a business. Share openly and are transparent: Not sure how a company is able to micromanage while providing absolutely no general direction whatsoever but Volusion has accomplished that feat. Favor autonomy and ownership: Now you have more responsibility and accountability without the paycheck that's supposed to go with it.

Pros

There's no set path for you at Volusion - it is what you make of it. I found the company to be full of people who genuinely cared about you as a person, and as a professional. Huge efforts towards moving to more transparency recently, which was appreciated. Amazing perks, snacks, food - there is a part of the People & Culture team dedicated to employee wellness, and making changes based on feedback from employees! How cool is that?

Cons

Not really a con, but there can be a good deal of ambiguity. If you're someone who doesn't do well with that, it's best to make sure you address it with your manager so you can perform your best.

Pros

Mostly Monday through Friday. They have a snack cabinet and energy drinks. The companies HR group is very nice and they will sometimes plan parties and cater lunch.

Cons

Very low pay for sales in Austin. Unless this is your first sales job or you are changing career to sales would advise against working here. Will not make good commission unless you work 55 plus hours and through lunches. They will break you down emotionally with constant meeting about unrealistic expectations. My last months there only one person was hitting their goal out of about 15. They also have performance enhancing plans that made a lot of us quit or apply to other positions.
