Pros

Very fast paced, lots of opportunities, great pay and benefits. Constant projects and reports, always kept busy.

Cons

Often worked long hours, nights, weekends, holidays. Management didn't care if people had to work holidays as long as deadlines were met.

Pros

Good benefits and pay. The onsite doctor is fantastic and very convenient.

Cons

The integration of WD and SanDisk combined with a strong culture of politics means there are constant layoffs, particularly for "legacy" WD people. (This is the experience of a WD employee, so it may be different if you're working for SanDisk.) But either way, it's now an environment where getting things done as quickly and as cheaply as possible are what's valued. Being creative or forward-thinking is discouraged, as is professional development. Our group, for example, is not authorized to attend conferences unless they're local and free. Even the tools (such as computer programs and equipment) we need to do our jobs are being severely pared back.
