      Competitive salaries and benefits, Great bonus program great employee lounge good work atmosphere,at least in Engineering Department

      Cons

      hard to get raise and/or promotion bonus program curtailed in favor of paying dividends upper management direction not clear and changed a lot layoffs put strain on morale (guess it does that everywhere)

      Pros

      Very friendly environment. The people there were like a family and definitely looked out for each other. It's a fast-paced environment that's deadline driven. I was nervous at first, but once you're in, they're willing to teach you and get you up to speed. Great base pay and good benefits as well.

      Cons

      When something goes right, it's because of management. When something goes wrongs, it's on you. Workload revolves around projects, meaning sometimes it's slow and other times it's quite busy. Kind of a back-and-forth as far as work goes.

      Pros

      Very "can do" culture. By and large people are respected and have a voice. Compensation is usually very competitive.

      Cons

      The company over-relies on schedule pressure to foster urgency and is highly risk adverse. Micromanagement is also all too common. All of these traits add up to a culture that stifles innovation. Furthermore, much is uncertain these days as the integration between HGST and WD is now in full swing. There is no end in sight, as the merger with SanDisk is right behind this one.
