The downfall of Content Solutions started when WD brought changed the senior leadership in Jan. Immediately people from past companies that had affiliations with the leadership were brought in and promoted to positions in which they were not qualified. The new leadership never attempted to know the teams, but made assumptions about people without any facts. Once you were assumed to be incompetent, you might as well start looking for another job. Then the big layoff of 8/21. It was mandated above the level of the senior leadership for our division, but our leadership took the opportunity to lay off every Director and Manager in Irvine and Mountain View that were not hired by the new leadership, including all of the engineers. Now they are left with a dictator for a leader and a group of managers with less than 6 months of experience at WD. And this happened with the next release of the product 2 weeks away.
