Pros

The team, great input and great teamwork

Cons

The management, they don't understand that they are fortune 500 company. They work like they are startup company with no real processes. Everyone works off of spreadsheets and not systems. The don't have a real planning system. they overproduce or they have shortages. Materials department doesn't work with the company. They are more concern about their bonus checks. They don't work on the best cost, but would rather negotiate a higher cost and show a fake quarterly 5% cost savings.

Pros

After the acquisition of HGST, WD is one of the duopoly companies in magnetic storage business (the other is Seagate). Therefore if you have a stable position in the company that means job security. The jobs are also hard to outsource. In hardware business, I would say it is pretty good in terms of base salary and profit sharing.

Cons

Company is very tight on everything else such as Perks, insurance and working environment. That is the in culture of WD since that is how it is survived in the price-sensitive cusumer storage market (PC and external storage) with low profit margin. Also the company has a tradition that
