Pros
- Generous with benefits, bonuses because of a merger of several companies. Used as incentive for good employees to stay. - Self-managed projects with autonomy. - Fortunate in my career to have two great managers that were part of a merger to WD. - Colleagues were a work family. - Fantastic for stability. Not doing anything innovative every day, but there are opportunities to learn if you investigate and poke around. - Remote work and flex time is on approved by your individual manager. Western Digital, doesn't promote work from home.
Cons
- If you don't know the right people, you get lost in a big corporation. The company has had low morale because of mergers and restructuring. - For a technical writer, there is no room for advancement or a set career path.
