Pros

I was able to work remotely.

Cons

Terrible training. Rules changing weekly. I was there for three years and could never move up. My stats were always in the high 90's. They fired most of the AP and Fraud staff and put all the work on the underpaid CSR's and expected the same level of excellence. My team lead was not helpful. When asked a question, they usually replied with a shrug emoji. My whole team was dropping like flies and even though I had good attendance, excellent scores for 3 years, I was fired for breaking a rule that we hadn't been told about yet. I did end up getting unemployment because I had all the proof. Just a toxic place to work. Pay was terrible too.

Pros

No place is perfect, but after my tenure at Wex I have nothing terrible to say. Yes, its a SaaS company put together via mergers and acquisitions, so often times processes can be convoluted and confusing. It's the nature of the beast. But if you can separate yourself from the inevitable chaos you are exposed to, the PEOPLE here are great. Smart, compassionate and all around awesome people. WEX respects work/life balance.

Cons

Since WEX is an expanding company, you will see the pros/cons of various mergers and acquisitions. Lots of opportunity to work on technology, but also multiple platforms, technical inconsistencies, multiple dev teams, multiple change processes etc. If everything was simple and consolidated, the opportunities wouldn't be there. If you can keep a good attitude and can breathe through any frustrations (be it technical or political), most of the "cons" are actually "pros in disguise." No place is perfect, but after working through several corporations, I would choose WEX over the others any day. You will need to be savvy and assertive to provide value to WEX, but if you are competent and confident in yourself, there is great room to shine here if you put in the work.
