Pros

WEX pays fairly well in terms of base wages. They also have decent employee benefits, and quite a broad range of them.

Cons

*The strict disciplinary procedures can have the unintended effect of not improving performance, but rather causing employees to feel they're being singled out for increased scrutiny, ever-increasing criticism, and/or individually targeted discipline, This has resulted in some employees' feeling they're merely being set up for failure. *System/application changes can tend to be rolled out with very short notice. Oftentimes, due to widespread technical issues that can result from this "rapid change" approach, it appears to front-line employees that the changes have not had the time to be fully vetted by the appropriate teams and/or individuals prior to being rolled out. This can therefore result in some employees' experiencing great levels of stress, frustration, and discontent with the pace of change at WEX.

Pros

Great culture from the top down. Friendly , comfortable and supportive environment. Flexible and generally supportive regarding work life balance.

Cons

They don’t seem to invest in adequate staffing of our servicing teams, technology/product support and support operations teams to adequately service our clients and partners. Senior level directors feel employees should be satisfied with praise and not monetarily. Salaries appear to be misaligned with the true radioed titles and job descriptions. It is very difficult to move up and be rewarded for tenure, institutional knowledge, and effort in regards to raises and promotions. I have seen first hand outside candidates being offered higher salaries with less experience than existing tenured team members.

Pros

- Great CEO - Senior Leadership is generally honest and respectful - Respectful culture working with global offices - Diversity & Inclusion office is doing exceptional work

Cons

- Reorgs have taken a long time to settle - Some roles have unclear expectations - Some silos/vertical orgs still need to work better with other orgs - Pay is middling. Definitely not competitive, but not low. - Bonuses are leaned on too heavily rather than more competitive benefits (lower premiums) and/or higher base wages - Recruitment, even in a difficult market, seems to take way too long. I have referred friends to positions and they never heard back about them--I think internal referrals at least warrant an e-mail or something.
