Cons

Oof, where to start? They are making a lot of posts on LinkedIn about how difficult it is to get hired at WHOOP. Sure, but they index on high egos. Internally they say "High Intensity, High Humility", but there's no humility. It's frat boy central, and they're obsessed with being in the office. Well, the highest of higher ups are, because of course they can afford to be within walking distance of the office. The peons who don't get bonuses (under VP-level) can barely afford to be off a subway line. The management team loves to kiss their own behinds. There's nothing wrong with being confident, but they are truly toxic. I won't name names, but if you've ever worked at WHOOP and aren't a Kool Aid drinker, you'll know who I mean. It's very disingenuine. You have to look a certain way, act a certain way, and act like you're on an upper all the time in order to fit in. There's also a "rules for thee and not for me" mentality of upper leadership. So many great people have left because of this. There are some great leaders at the company, but unfortunately they get overshadowed.

Pros

WHOOP’s culture is one of its biggest strengths. The energy in the office is high, the pace is intense, and the people are deeply passionate about both the product and the mission. WHOOP does an exceptional job hiring thoughtful, talented people, and there’s a genuine sense of excitement and momentum when new team members join. It’s an environment that challenges you to bring your best every day while also fostering collaboration and creativity across teams. I genuinely enjoy coming into work each day, my colleagues have become people I truly enjoy being around, and being in the office consistently brightens my mood. The office itself is beautiful and in a great location, which adds to the overall experience. On top of that, the employee perks and monthly events make it a fun, engaging place to work. Ideas are welcomed, ownership is encouraged, and there’s constant opportunity to learn and grow alongside talented, driven coworkers.

Cons

Because the company moves quickly, priorities can shift and you need to be comfortable adapting.

Pros

The company has a strong engineering team, and the interactions have been very positive. The engineers are engaged, collaborative, and clearly motivated to support the company’s growth.

Cons

There is a noticeable lack of diversity at the board and senior leadership levels. Without attributing intent or causality, the current composition of upper management raises concerns about whether the organization is fully assessing and advancing qualified talent from diverse backgrounds. Addressing representation and inclusion at the leadership level would strengthen decision-making, organizational credibility, and the company’s ability to attract and retain top talent.
