Leadership Is Clueless / Very Political Company
Pros
Most of the people at WPP are hardworking and want to do the best for the company and it's clients. US based pay is ok compared to competitors and the market. Benefits are good as well.
Cons
Very political. If you are not located in the UK offices, you are overlooked for promotions, raises, and are generally dismissed. IT leadership changes frequently, each bringing major changes to the landscape - none of which stick or make the company better. Have been in a "Transformation" state for years, but never seem to get close to finishing. The best employees get overlooked and disregarded. The worst get promoted. This is a toxic place to work, most of the time, due to the ever changing politics and "leadership" mismanagement. Executives only come to WPP to use it as a stepping stone to their next role, leaving chaos in the wake of their departure. There are no advancement or training opportunites for most teams. The only way to obtain a new position/salary is to come in fresh. It is rare that people are promoted in meaningful ways from within. They are mostly overlooked due to leadership not valuing their people. Leadership is too concerned with doing the bare minimum to make it to their next external role.
