Pros
Get to get your hands on lots of technologies. Laid back but fast paced atmosphere. Lots of opportunity. Your interests seems to be a key factor in project placement.
Cons
This is a definite pro for me but it may be a con for some. You have to be self motivated and proactive. Though you're given a general idea of what needs to be done on any given project, it's up to you to perform.
