Every minute of every day was charted, graphed, and turned into a metric, even bathroom time is questioned at reviews. Management typically favored individuals, teams, or departments. Procedures would not be followed to improve productivity, rather push individuals to produce more with little to no support. Corporate policies and standard operating procedures would be followed for a short time, only to be abandoned for 'the way we have always done it'. Positions were eliminated that increased productivity and lessened workload on all teams, instead workload was increased on teams / individuals and they expect better results. Management would approach machines and physically increase the speed, or yell at operators to do so. Vacation requests, family emergencies, or sick days were frowned upon, management would scorn employees for missing work, often ask if time off is really necessary. Little to no opportunities for advancement, unless personal friends with upper management, many unqualified people in authoritative rolls that brought little to nothing to the betterment of the work place. Out dated, worn out equipment that local management and corporate wold not keep up, replace, or rebuild.
