Pros

I've never worked somwhere that values it's employees as much as WSECU does. This shows in big picture ways like the benefits, but also is small every day ways like your opinions being taken seriously and feeling like you can actually affect change- even as an entry level employee. The atmosphere here is unparalleled; people new to the company often remark how friendly every one is and how happy they seem. It's an incredibly supportive environment.

Cons

The way that wages are determined for new employees is inconsistent across departments, and this leads to wage disparities. One department may choose to bring entry level people in near the top of the pay grade and another may choose to start closer to the bottom, which leads to people with extremely similar job functions being paid differently.

Thanks for the warm review! The supportive environment you described is a huge part of our culture and it’s something that we collectively work hard to create and sustain. Supporting each other allows us to thrive in our roles and in turn, provide the best member support possible. We hear you on how confusing wages can be. We recently moved to a new compensation model, utilizing a respected vendor to reassess our pay scales. We will be rolling out training to hiring leaders very soon, to help them place new hires within the range more accurately and consistently. Like all new processes, there will likely be some growing pains; within the next couple of years, we should see more consistency and less of those disparities you described.
