Pros

Opportunity to move between departments for learning experience. Most of the people are generally good people. Communication between the speciality groups, good sharing of information and resources are available. As well, many specialized agents and departments in specific areas. Hours of work are good and people are treated well in general

Cons

The benefits are not anything to brag about. Holiday time is a little difficult to build up! Serious questions to management are often ignored and put to the side. Difficult place to jump into, as training is nearly non-existent for many. As such a little difficult to grow within the company and the industry.

Pros

The new building! Great people and a sense of willingness to change amongst normal employees and those at the very top of the company for the better which is rare in such large organisations.

Cons

Middle management (all directors below board and divisional level) as in so many places are a significant impediment to implementing change. There is also a drive to have all job roles as revenue generating, which impedes the true revenue generators as there is not sufficient support from peons.

Pros

Dynamic and charismatic strategic leadership is evident through regular appearances by senior management in front of all employees. The overall standard of associates is exceptionally high. Peers are intelligent, industrious and it is a really great place to look forward to coming to work. The Willis Building in Lime Street must be one of the best places to work in the City. There are lots of reasons to work here.

Cons

Short-term, hard-nosed business decisions to attain unrealistic targets prevent individuals working together to achieve long-term goals. There is a view that goals are set so high that bonus targets are virtually impossible to meet. Those that understand their trade and have cracked the system work unremittingly to achieve their personal goals. A lot of attention is paid to team events, but these are invariably spurned by middle managers. There is therefore too much evidence of 'silo' working with very little matrix or project working - in spite of the 'One Flag' vision. Lower management levels are so focused on goals that there is very little time for team-building activities. There is no hint that individuals' skills have been identified and used for the common good. When some faces do not fit, they simply disappear without recognition.
