Pros

I enjoyed working for Waitrose and Partners but I left because I found a job in an industry that I am more interested in. I had some great colleagues that were really passionate about their work and were a pleasure to work with.

Cons

I left the partnership in March 2020 for a new job. Unfortunately I was put on furlough almost immediately and I am not eligible for the government’s pledge to pay for my salary with my current employer. This is relevant because I emailed the partnership asking if they would be willing to support me and after over a week of waiting to hear back they gave me a number to call. I rang the number and they said that they would not be rehiring former partners to furlough them which leaves me stuck on universal credit until I can go back to work. I guess the John Lewis Partnership do not care about their partners which is really rather disappointing because I worked hard and took pride in what I did at my local branch.
