Pros

Discount is good, and would imagine promotion prospects are good if you have a modicum of intelligence. I only worked there part time so I don't know.

Cons

There is a high concentration of studets, which can be good, but it also means that you end up with a lot of people who aren't enthused about their work.

Pros

Enjoyed my time as a supermarket assistant for Waitrose on the ambient section. Great team atmosphere around the store. Good level of pay and bonus was welcome. Used to get paid time and a half on a Sunday.

Cons

Was contracted weekends. Working night shifts was unenjoyable, though these were optional for me. Working over Christmas period could be stressful at times.
