Pros

If your lucky some people you work with might be nice

Cons

I cannot believe how poor waitrose is as a company. A top supermarket using a training software that looks like its been coded by a 10 year old in the 90s. The website is unusable which is where you will have to do your training, update details, request holiday etc. It is honestly the worst website ive ever seen. The managers will make it as difficult as possible for you to have a life, I requested holiday all throughout the year but apparently if I want a holiday in august I need to book that off in october the year before? I am a 21 year old, do you really think im booking my summer holidays in autumn the year before. The whole of december you will be allowed 0 holiday which then makes it impossible for you to use your holiday before the end of the year. They will give you 0 holiday when you ask but wont be afraid to ask you every shift if you can "please help with some overtime". Freaks mate. Then it comes to resigning, the managers are happy to make your life difficult so when you flip it on them and ask to resign they will ignore you. I asked many times for help on how to navigate the website that may aswell be in mandarin on how to quit but was ignored. finally 2 weeks later someone came to help me quit and now my actual leave date is not for another 2 weeks. A month after i requested to leave. Just avoid this company seriously, so behind in their tech, you won't have a life and 90% of management are rude and will lie for their benefit. Also the stats show how poorly this company is doing, avoid it and save yourself the hassle.

Not the ideal workplace.

Pros

Some great staff. Okay discounts.

Cons

Employees aren't exactly allowed to talk to each other on shift. Hard to get holidays off and managers will allocate the time off for you which you can't change. Managers can be extremely rude, especially to new staff. When calling in sick, expect to be questioned and perhaps even (like in my case), threatened to lose their job. Long hours which can be very hard to change. (Average is 9-hour days).
