Pros

Well paid compared to other jobs that do not require qualifications or experience. Always extra hours to pick up if needed. Unchallenging work. Set routine of tasks to follow. Paid training which you complete during your shifts. Progress reviews with your line manager.

Cons

The repetitive nature of tasks means that the work can become tiresome. In my experience, you are often left to your own devices when working in larger stores and can sometimes go a whole day without speaking to the duty manager. Something that also occurred in the larger stores was that you would often be given a single task eg. ambient rolling/checkout supervisor which you would do for the duration of your shift with no variation. I would definitely recommend working in a little Waitrose or a smaller branch if you want more responsibility, variation in your work and interaction with the other partners.
