Nightmare Administration

Pros

Great colleagues and wonderful faculty

Cons

Inconsistent and unfair hiring practices, the rules change frequently and HR shows clear favoritism. Many of the VPs care only about their own power and also show favoritism. If they like you, you can do anything. If they don't, you don't have a chance.

Pros

Great people and relaxed environment made working there enjoyable

Cons

fairly behind in terms of IT software. They don't utilize enough of today's software to make certain jobs easier or non-existent. This is not good for someone trying to build a career in IT

Pros

Helping students Campus Police are kind and easily accessible Decent benefits

Cons

Within various departments, there is a consistently oppressive and toxic environment, including passive aggressive comments, gossip, and mixed messages from those in supervisor roles. Lower level staff are undervalued and blamed for the mistakes of others. Higher administration seem to make their own rules & display favoritism. Administrative processes and changes are frequently ineffectively communicated. As a result, when staff do not follow procedures as expected, they are the ones at-fault, even though they were not notified of such changes. Oftentimes, upper management disregards staff concerns, even if it affects their ability to perform well and serve students adequately. An accumulation of stress and the lack of support causes many employees to quickly become apathetic & burned out.
