Pros

Independent job where I can build relationships in my business without competition going on around me such as other beauty advisors right next to me like at Nordstrom.

Cons

Rate of pay is determined if Advisor makes the goal for the month only which is unfair if certain conditions such as lack of stock arise.

Pros

Consistent schedule and attendance policy

Cons

I recently had the experience of working as a function lead at the Plainfield warehouse, and I feel compelled to share my thoughts, especially for anyone from the Black community or LGBTQIA backgrounds considering a similar role. Honestly, unless you're okay with a very short stint—like six months or less—I’d think twice before applying. When I first joined, I was given warnings by the staff about the culture there, but I guess I was a bit naive and hoped things would be different. Unfortunately, the reality was far from ideal. It became clear that team members who were favored by upper management felt comfortable bullying and harassing those of us who weren’t in their circle. It was disheartening to see this behavior brushed off as “hazing” or “testing limits,” especially since it was coming from people who clearly had a lot of sway. Even when my coaching led to solid performance numbers that got noticed by corporate, it didn’t seem to matter. Instead of celebrating successes, it felt like all that was wanted was a scapegoat whenever things went south. In fact, I saw several newly hired function leads quit after just one day when they witnessed the treatment I received—both from the day and night shifts. If you're looking for a supportive environment where your contributions are recognized and respected, you might want to look elsewhere. This place seems to prioritize a toxic culture over solid leadership and teamwork.
