Pros

When I interviewed to work at Walgreens, it looked like it was a great place to work with lots of opportunities for advancement.

Cons

Since Walgreens ended its relationship with Express Scripts and the growth of Walgreens as a company as a whole has greatly declined, it looks like promotions will be slim to none in the near future. Also, a lot of rumors going around about drastic changes to pharmacy, management, and store structure in general. Job security is a thing of the past.

Pros

A good, rounded training in retail covering all aspects. With so many locations a good fit for you and your Manager should be possible. A broad mix of office, stockroom, pharmacy, sales floor and customer interaction. You a very much part of a team.

Cons

A much more physical job than might be imagined, not really a "con" or downside but expect to be moving a lot of stock at certain times.

Pros

paid reasonably, investment package good, diversity is not just a word

Cons

hours are nuts and not family friendly. salaried employees are expected to work 20% hours (six days a week+) during winter holidays, Staffing hours cut and hiring freeze. It is becoming clear that staff are tools for investor benefit, and tools are useful if they handle any change or assignment without complaint.
