Pros

Your mileage as an hourly employee will vary depending on your store manager. All of them are (in my opinion) stressed, exhausted, and stretched as thin as possible. In some cases, this means it's easy to get hired and easy to fly under the radar with minimal stress for yourself. The best compliment I can give Walgreens is that if you're desperate, you could definitely do worse. If you're not though, you could do a lot better.

Cons

Everything I'm saying here is a matter of opinion and based on my personal experience. Overall, I've worked more demanding jobs than this and lower-paying jobs than this and can say without a doubt that this is the worst job I've ever had. Any individual aspect of this job is doable on its own, but the amount that is heaped on your plate is insurmountable. This appears to be true for every position in the store, both front-end and pharmacy. Everyone is stretched as thin as possible by design. This ensures that not only does no one task ever really get done correctly, but also that everyone is constantly exhausted and stressed and the work environment is brutal. Your coworkers will resent you regardless of how hard you work and how much you accomplish, because there will always be something you physically didn't have time to get to. And you will resent them for the same reason. You will be run ragged during the holiday season and then your hours will be cut below a livable wage in January. Software and hardware break constantly; you will be on the phone with some kind of tech support every day. In my opinion, making any sort of complaint about another employee, whether to HR or your manager, is a waste of time. Because it's hard to hire for a stressful job that pays pathetic wages, a bad person who is an okay employee will have an incredible amount of job security. This is not because of any individual bad manager but because of a series of problems that trickle down from corporate. Budget hours could be increased, wages could be increased, safety and discipline procedures could be reworked and clarified. All that would help. Unfortunately, it would also eat into the CEO's bonus a bit, I imagine.

Cons

The coworkers are fake. They don’t treat everyone the same. The training is not the same for everyone. They don’t help each other out.
