Pros

A casual clothing uniform, easy to comply with. Varied hours, Reasonable pay,Easy to get to. Most employees easy to work with, and helpful. I enjoyed helping other employees whenever I could. I enjoyed helping customers find what they came in for, quickly,so they would have more leisure time to look around and discover the many various points of interest to them, which creates lots more sales.

Cons

You get absolutly no recognition for anything, other than a short hand clap. Then it's all forgotten. The other employees hate you for it, and life goes on. Most of the time the assistant managers turn a blind eye to anything you personally accomplish, like when I was told the toy dept. was a hopeless battle. So I worked very hard, turned it around after many months, and the store got number ONE in the district, and over all. Another hand clap, a little profit sharing, and forgotten again. When I worked in, the plants dept. Same results! After I went to toys, sales in the plant dept. have never had the same outcome. We were a team. The problem was the mgr wanted all the credit. So enjoy, madame! The other most deplorable thing was finding fault with anything, just before a review,so you wouldn"t get your raise. They could stall it a few more month"s. Or even fire you, which was their plan all the time.More profit sharing for them! Everyone knew it.
