Pros

Wal-Mart is one of few companies in the U.S. that is still *making* money...better job security than someplace that is operating in the hole. Great discount program, excellent benefits. Team atmosphere is fantastic. Ability to view my paycheck stub before I actually get paid is nice. Fortunately, the person I answer directly to is a doll. Schedules are done 3 weeks in advance, so there are no surprises.

Cons

Store Management seems disorganized at times -- one manager says one thing, which trumps what someone else said. Scheduling issues supposedly cannot be fixed once the schedule is finalized. Have to be employed for 6 months before medical and dental benefits kick in.

Pros

Walmart has excellent career opportunites. Walmart not only has opportuities in the building you are currently in, they also have opportunities globally. Walmart shows recognition for a job well done. Walmarts 3 basic beliefs, respect, service, excellence. Walmart has great community service programs. The Walmart culture is like no other.

Cons

Walmart has a very strict and at times unfair disciplanary policy. Coming from a small business backgroud, the politics at thjs huge corporation are unbelievable.
