Pros

Having worked for years at Walmart in 4 different stores I can say the following apply in general for all 4 places. Awesome people, most associates are incredible steady job as worlds largest retailer not going under any time soon no overtime permitted except during inventory and Christmas periods must have at least 1 day off per week company hires handicappable individuals the home office has set up an incredible infrastructure to insure proper running of stores and distribution centers Training is very good when it is done how it is supposed to be done.

Cons

One raise per year capped at .60 but you will not be able to get that because the criteria for it is to high so the most you can get is .40.I received four excels on my eval but still only got .40 Almost makes you want to find another job just to get a raise! Depressing to know it will take 10 years to make $4.00 more than you do right now. The incredible infrastructure is not followed and the stores hide this from home office as long as on paper it looks like they are following procedures it is all good. Favoritism is rampant it is like there are two walmarts in the building those that can, have, and do and those that cant and do not have. The same people get promoted, the same people go to the outside christmas party every year, the same people get sent to outside events for associates. It can be difficult if your the only csm in the building to respond to the cashier needs, customer needs, run register, push carts, exchange propane tanks, answer phone calls, site to store and watch other depts like jewelry when they go on break and all of that isnt in a shift its in an hour! To few associates in the building under the new system not able to get everything done and provide serious customer service.

Pros

It's a stable company with interesting projects. There are a lot of people around to ask for help. Senior managers are easy to talk to.

Cons

Barely no holidays! It's a huge company therefore there is lot of bureaucracy. Too many projects can be assigned to one person.

Pros

I started out as a part time associate, my unemployment had run out, I though I would work there until I found a position. I have been with Walmart 3 years and have been promoted 2x, I am interviewing again this week for a 3rd promotion. So advancement is there if a person is ready to apply themselves. I have transfer to get a promotion but it has overall been a good experience.

Cons

As with company, there are some bad managers that some how never seem accountable for their actions. And run there individual stores as if they were personally owned. With no respect for the company's core beliefs, The point system is an unfair system , coaching are not applied in a fair manner
