Pros
The company will hire almost anyone. You wouldn’t believe way the agents acted if I wrote it here. One of the trainers actually boasted about how many people failed under his tutelage, so there isn’t a lot of pressure to really apply yourself. Only work four days a week. Good for bad salesmen: everything relies on a script. My upline didn’t understand anything about insurance so obviously you don’t need to have a great deal of knowledge. If you can somehow get past your upline, the competition in this company is nonexistent. Online training courses are good.
Cons
Your upline has absolute control over your future with the company. Question them and they will poison the well to the regional manager and you will have no one to go to for help. The online materials may be good, but you will notice your trainer only goes to “green doors.” The actual job is upselling existing customers, so all of the efforts you put in to learning the product and presentation are a waste. The trainers on the team I was assigned were broke, got into fights with each other about territory, and threw tantrums in the car when a customer didn’t buy. You will be blamed for anything that goes wrong. In summary, the long term agents don’t want you here. The backbiting between them is already fierce. Do you think they want more competition? Save your gas and hotel money and work for another company.
