Pros

The money is generally very good, although there are several determining factors as to whether you make money. The team is really solid, hard working, talented and supportive. There are a couple of good managers.

Cons

Long intense training with no guarantee of work at the end. Schedule and section is heavily seniority based and there are people who have been there for eight years, so when you start you get the worst sections and shifts for a several months. Most of the managers are pretty ineffective and treat you like a cog in a machine although there are a couple good eggs who really care and do their best. No corkage fee so anyone can bring as much of their own wine in as they want and they do. No auto grat on large parties and you tip out on sales so its easy to get screwed even though sales potential is high. A lot of self seating sections which can be pure chaos and not worth the stress. The company’s policy is “guest first” which translates to “employees last”

Pros

I've been working here for a few years now. Even when it is slow, we are busier than most restaurants. PPA is typically pretty high the money is consistent and good. There are a lot of servers - most are pretty cool - and it is always easy to get shifts covered/swapped.

Cons

There is a lot of side work and shifts are longer than most restaurants (but see above that $$ is good, so you take with good with the bad). The support staff isn't the best, but they're improving. Some of the managers are lazy and don't do anything.
