Managers Who Do Not Wish to Manage

Pros

Pay is decent. Free coffee. The property is beautiful. Plenty of clean working bathrooms. Easy humorous atmosphere. Nice Desk. Pretty coworkers.

Cons

They have you walking on egg shells everyday. They are no clear objectives or orders when it comes to managing the residents. They are no rules for resident conduct. Waterton is like a slumlord. They only care about the look of the property and collecting rent. When it comes to resident behavior, loud music late night, dogs barking all day, tenants fighting and cursing all day, Dave Sharp . . whatever the East Coast Regional Manager orders his staff not to say anything. If when residents have threatened physical violence against one another.

Pros

Residents made this job bearable.

Cons

I worked with a women whose shelf life was almost up. She was out to get me from day one - now I'm on unemployment and searching for jobs that one actually needs talent for - no wonder only a high school diploma is required.

Pros

Amazing team of dedicated professionals, great opportunities for growth and learning. Since my first day I have felt like I was part of something special that happens to few people during their professional careers. A growing company but the ownership is dedicated to putting in resources (people and money) to advance processes, systems and to achieve overall business goals. There is a high level of personal accountability in the organization and high performance expectations which I thrive on so the work environment personally works for me. The organization is always working on continuous improvement. Benefits and pay are competitive for the industry, but let's face it, you don't go into hospitality to get rich.

Cons

Continues improvements and change, I don't see this as a con but if you want to work in culture that is always status-quo this isn't for you. Work life balance can be a challenge but has improved as the organization has grown. Highly motivated professionals and a fast paced environment, again not a con for some but may not be the right environment for everyone.
