Pros

New cafeteria designed New landscape caring co-workers

Cons

This company talks a big game on Employees come first, but actions speak louder than words. But you be the judge with these examples- Salary employees are now required to be in at 7:00am. No excuses. Even if you had prior arrangements before this new policy. You are also required to say after hours. When asked what about those needing to stay longer sometimes. The answer came back - " doesn't matter if that keeps you here longer then that's what you need to do, each day in some peoples case. Pay was compared to "market rates". After these comparisons they determined that pay was average in the market. Now the back story. Two of the market comparisons were a home depot employee for line workers, and for a middle manager group, it was department store manager. If the rest of the comparisons were this poor then I assume the other jobs got shafted too. The job benefits are average at best. They provide you with high deductible Insurance plans only. You cant argue it or they'll tell you " it's better than getting nothing at all" The bonus system is a sham. They tell you high number bonuses which match up great but in the 15+ years i've been here we never got close to the target number. This happens because they set the goal for getting that bonus to stupidly high levels. The response is "well you could get nothing at all" Employees are laid-off without any warning or concern. They are usually cut and rehired frequently at all levels

Pros

Good place to learn lean manufacturing though pressure to have kaizen events sometimes made those a "check the box" exercise. Creativity encouraged. Decent pay and benefits. Learning and development encouraged.

Cons

Sometimes bullying leadership styles overlooked as long as the financial results were there which contradicted stated values. HR seemed to be easily fooled and went by the last statement heard vs. delving into details; perceived as wanting to gain favor with C-suite. Knee jerk line leadership reactions in attempt to gain profit at times vs. taking a longer term view.

Pros

Some benefits like 401K and medical insurance, very average for California

Cons

1-No diversity, the high positions are just for the white boy's club . no matter how hard you work, you can only reach the lead position. 2-Multiple layoffs on the last years, people on the highchairs are living too, they know something... and is bad that's why THEY ARE RUNNING. 3-Very fast pacing, quality goes under the table on the daily basis.
