Pros
- Exposure to management, different functions and platforms - Hybrid work model - M&A opportunities - Company growth / performance
Cons
- Turnover issues: whether it’s organizational restructurings, firing full teams and rehiring in the same year, or large department leaves from employee burnout, turnover is one of the biggest downfalls of Watts - Doesn’t promote internal talent until they put in their notice - Lean teams - from my experience some functions (HR, IT, Finance, Accounting) seem to be doing the work of two to three employees - Early morning and late nights. Always busy season - Lack of onboarding for new hires, sink or swim mentality - Managers tend to have no backbone for advocating for their employees to GLT. Never any change - Entry level employees doing manager level work - Awkward company culture, pays for their awards - Rapid leadership changes in one year (relates to turnover). Unrealistic to integrate so many new changes so fast (CFO, CIO, VP Marketing, etc)
